Thanks for thinking of me when it comes to a response!
I am one of the transgender women who has resorted to medications to alter my body and aid my transition. And, so far no major surgeries.
As far as Jung and any psychology goes, if I understand the question correctly, my need to transition into my authentic feminine self comes from a deep seeded need and was never a choice. In fact, the more I fought the urge to follow my basic gender needs, the closer I came to self harm and/or suicide.
If you want to equate being transgender to other inhabitants of this world, it shows how deeply seated the whole idea of being trans is and has been with us forever. (insects animals etc.)
I will be happy to answer any questions anyone may have. Since I am well into my senor years, I have heard it all.
Thanks!
